Challenge
A ledger running on a single database could not keep up with settlement volume, and every release required a maintenance window.
Compliance reporting was assembled by hand each month, which made audit season a three-week project for the whole team.
Solution
We split the ledger from the product surface, introduced an event log as the source of truth, and rebuilt settlement as an idempotent pipeline that can be replayed safely.
Reporting became a read model derived from the same event log, so audit exports are generated continuously instead of reconstructed monthly.
